Who we are

MEMO (“MEMO”, “we”, “us”) is an AI personal memory assistant for iOS, operated by Ofri Mishali. This policy covers the MEMO iOS app (“MEMO - AI Memory”) and this website. If you have any question about it, email us at ofri@ofrimishali.com.

Data we collect

MEMO only collects what you actively give it:

• Account information — your name and email address, received from Apple when you sign in with Apple. If you use Apple’s “Hide My Email”, we only see the relay address.
• Content you save — notes you type or dictate, voice recordings and their transcripts, photos and screenshots you choose to save (including text extracted from them), videos and their descriptions, reminders and tasks.
• Questions you ask — the queries you send to Recall so MEMO can find your saved memories.
• Subscription state — whether you have an active MEMO Pro subscription or trial. Payments are processed entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details.
• Device push token — so reminders can reach your device as notifications.

We do not collect your location, contacts, browsing history, or advertising identifiers, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

How we use your data

Your content is used for one purpose: making MEMO work for you — transcribing your voice, reading the images you save, organizing everything into memories, reminders and tasks, retrieving it when you ask, and delivering reminders on time. We do not use your content for advertising, we do not sell it, and we never share it with anyone except the service providers listed below.

AI processing and service providers

MEMO is built on AI. To transcribe, understand, and organize what you save, your content (typed and dictated text, voice audio, photos and screenshots, and your Recall questions) is sent to OpenAI, which processes it on our behalf as a data processor. Per OpenAI’s API terms, content sent through the API is not used to train OpenAI’s models. The app asks for your explicit consent to this processing before you can start using it, and you can review the disclosure anytime in Settings → Privacy & AI.

Each provider is contractually bound to protect your data and may only use it to provide the service described above.

Retention and deletion

Your content is kept for as long as you keep it — MEMO is a memory app, so nothing is deleted unless you delete it. You can delete any individual memory in the app, and you can delete your entire account and all associated data at any time in Settings → Account → Delete account. Deletion removes your data from our database and storage. You can also email us at ofri@ofrimishali.com and we will delete your data for you.

Your rights

You can access everything you have saved directly in the app, export it as a file (Settings → Backup → Export), correct it by editing any item, and delete it as described above. If you are in a region with specific privacy rights (such as the EU or Israel), you may also contact us to exercise them.

Security

All data travels over encrypted connections (TLS). Your memories are stored in a database protected by row-level security, meaning your account can only ever read its own data. Sensitive on-device values are stored in the iOS Keychain.

Children

MEMO is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update this page and its effective date, and note the change in the app when it matters.
